FFS he's saying he'll take a pay cut to return to atlanta and there saying.....

Massimo Donati may be begging for a return to Atalanta, but Gigi Del Neri warns “that is not going to happen.”

The Celtic midfielder admitted this week he would love a comeback to the club where he started his career.

“I'm very attached to Atalanta but I am not aware of any negotiation to bring me back to Bergamo,” he said.

“If the club wanted to, I am ready to talk about it. One day I will return to Bergamo, it could be in the summer, it could be in two years.”

Naturally these comments stirred up rumours of a January switch, but Atalanta boss Del Neri shut them down.

“I can rule out Donati's arrival. In 2007 he decided to join Celtic and now he has to respect out decision,” said the Coach.

“We are going to sign a new midfielder, but it is not Donati. We are also boosted by the return to fitness of Luca Cigarini and Christian Vieri.

“They have improved a great deal over the last few days and whether or not they start against Palermo on Sunday depends entirely on the system I will adopt.”

Del Neri is a former Palermo Coach and recognises it is tough to emerge from the Stadio Barbera with a positive result.

“I want to see an Atalanta side ready for battle, as Palermo are a quality opponent.”

Problem with Donati is that nobody actually wants him. Dont see what he could bring to any club.

Highlight was Ac Milan ..when he came on as a first half sub....due to an injury.

He looked confident/enthusiastic and bagged the goal.

Unable to establish himself in front of a pish defence.

I hope Crosas doesn't suffer a similar fate.

He didn't score against AC though. Thought Donati was absolutely gutter, but when he came back he showed a bit more of what we thought we were getting then got injured again.

I have a property agency on the costa blanca and one of Celtics newer directors is having two very large houses built here for investment, he has one he uses and is having the other two built.
Obviously cant say his name, but talking with him over the weekend and again today and he is adament that Celtic are working on a big,big name.
He says this guy is out of contract and says that the only way he will not be coming, will be if he does not want to come to scotland, they will pay him basicly what it takes.
Talks have been going on for a few weeks and he says it will be a big enough deal to be self financing with merchandise and a couple of glamour games that would fill celtic park.
I asked if it was Larson, but he wont give any indication, just that if it happens he reckons celtic park will be buzzing the rest of the season.

Your neck is now hanging over an untightened noose ATM and if nothing comes off in January or July then questions will be asked

Surely wont be Larsson (or Lovenkrands as JKD suggested) as surely the main problem there would be coming to Scotland as they would have already had first hand experience of it.

TBH I'd guess it's someone from the top 3 leagues in the world (Italian, Spanish and English and in that order.)
