Thread: Outlandish Rumour Circulating - Celtic linked with a left back?

There is apparantly quotes from Marek Cech's agent saying that Tony Mowbary is interested in signing the West brom left back.

Surely this has to be a joke. I mean a left back!! We have Lee Naylor!

Marek Cech's agent insists Celtic manager Tony Mowbray is keen to become reunited with the West Brom left-back at Parkhead.


Mowbray took Cech, 26, to The Hawthorns from Porto in a £1.4million deal last summer but he struggled to dislodge Paul Robinson, making only three league starts and five substitute appearances all term.


But much has changed this summer - with Mowbray taking charge at Celtic, Roberto Di Matteo stepping in at Albion and Robinson completing a season-long loan switch to Barclays Premier League Bolton with a view to a permanent deal.


Cech's agent, Juraj Venglos, now claims Mowbray is looking to add to the capture of former Baggies loanee Marc-Antoine Fortune by bringing the Slovakia international north of the border.


With Robinson no longer at the club, West Brom head coach Di Matteo is likely to turn to Cech this season to fill the void and has already stressed he does not want, or need, to part ways with any members of his squad.


That makes a move unlikely but, according to Venglos, that has supposedly not stopped



Mowbray, and FC Twente boss Steve McClaren, showing an interest.
Venglos told Slovak news agency SITA: "I can confirm that Twente would very much like to capture Marek.


"Apart from the Dutch club, Celtic are also maintaining their strong interest.


"But the problem is that West Brom do not want to release him. Di Matteo counts on him as a member of his squad for the upcoming season."


He added: "I believe that everything will be sorted properly within this week. It is also possible that Marek will spend another season at West Brom.

These could be quotes taken from the agent last season at some point tbh. We live in hope

........isn't Celtic signing a left back one of the signs of the apocalypse?

Doubt this will happen, Mogga never played him after signing him for West Brom
