    his grandparents are irish.

    when mcgeady was a kid ireland wanted him to play for them, but he went to scotland and they told him he wasn't good enough.

    when he finally broke into the celtic team scotland took an interest, but mcgeady told them to GTF and wanted to repay ireland for the faith they showed in him.
