Anyone with half a brain would give most managers at least a season to prove their worth.
He should be judged at the end of this season. If the league title is the barrometer, he`s safe because we`ll win it. But Strachan won it and he wasn`t exempt from criticism, the sceptics may retort. Too true. The difference is that Mowbray is attempting to build a "football" team that wins titles as opposed to a "team" that wins titles. Big difference for me. Poor start, undoubtedly, but there`s a serious difference in philosophies.I would prefer to win The SPL with sexy football rather than puke football. We are blessed with the fact that we have little or no opposition. My great fear consists of the fact that our current squad are incapable of this leap of faith as current performances suggest they are struggling. I believe that we have the nucleus of an entertaining football team that wins trophies.Mogga must produce and i believe that he will.
Based on the fact that he took a provincial non-entity like Hibs and had them playing stunning football that they had no right to play based on their financial resources, sold his prize assets for big money but it didn`t alter their flow, regularly giving us and Huns more than a run for our money. O`Neill`s last season - 1-3 at Paradise, ultimately cost us title with 3 games to go. Took an average West Brom side to Premiership playing beautiful football in a league where, supposedly you must fight and not play football to prosper. Granted, relegated adopting same philosiphy but how many managers have you seen given a standing ovation at end of season having finished bottom?Indifferent start, to say the least, at Paradise but time will tell. Again, judge him at the end of the season.
some could suggest that its easier to manage at teams of lesser expectation as you can have a more gung ho approach and if it works then great and if it doesnt then noone expected any different anyway. He doesnt have that safety net at CP, tho now we are fucked in europe he does have thesafety net that every other team is pish.
I would hardly call his track record evidence that he could do well, also wouldnt choose the Hearts game to suggest there was anything to show we are even on the right track.
I stand by my opinion that the performance against Hearts was very good. Finishing was the only problem and whilst i accept that is the object of the game, our overall play was good and pleasing on the eye. I`m gutted at the result but recall home League Cup exits under Strachan to Hearts (in a much more depressing fashion) and Falkirk and i would urge caution. For your information, we are currently top of the league. It was generally accepted that the league was the priority. We`re pish and top, says it all really, a bit like the Strachan years with only one difference - we`re going to improve and play some football!
i have to agree with that he does need time but on the other hand this is basiclly the same team that beat ac milan shakar and the like at home under GS and u have to ask urself why???????
he has to be givin, cash in jan to make the team more of his on and hopefully wee gord will take mick aff our hands
keep the high baws low!!!!
