Would DD and co be prepared to speculate to accumulate? The initial outlay would be massive to assemble a team for the epl. The Sky dough might be good but unless someone's underwriting some ambitious squad building there would be no point to it.

This really has nothing to do with actually playing in the EPL.Its all about the loot. If Desmond wants to negotiate with sky then perhaps the money sky contribute to the EPL could be shared equally with the SPL this would then give everyone equal amounts of money to both leagues then there would be no cross border problem

[/b] mick i am afraid on this point i have to agree desmond, the chances of the old firm doing any thing in europe now is virtualy nil and i myself have said all along that the media companies sky etc they will be the ones who decide who will come and go in the premiership and if it means they want the old firm ther and it is going to enhance ther product then no one will have a vote or say on it they wud simply demand it as they are the people who pay these clubs, trust me on this one mick

we would be lucky to survive without being relegated, look at the squads of any of the teams in the bottom half of the epl how many of our players would even get into their squad never mind their teams?
We would need an entire new squad of 25 players at an average maybe 7 or 8 million each? = 200 million just to compete mid table
We would never spend the money needed and even if we did, if spent wrongly we could easily end up like leeds or newcastle etc.
What we have got is as good as it is ever going to be SHITE!

I wouldn't want us to play in England anyway. Take Celtic, Liverpool, Man United, St Pauli, etc and start our own league, thats the way to go.
