Bobo and Gravesen – No Dignity

Somewhere along the line Bobo Balde and Tommy G must of lost their love for football. Bobo who has been sitting on his arse for the best part of two years, he goes to his bank account once a week and withdraws 28k.

Tommy G’s agent today declared that his client is going nowhere and is more than prepared to sit along side Bobo week in week out and hit his ATM for a whopping 40k a week. While it is well with in their rights to do this, it also paints a picture though of the type of person they are. After all were taking a combined total of nearly 70k a week here for two players that do absolutely nothing to help the Celtic cause.

There is a countless number of players who take off down the divisions, take pay cuts, move to different countries all for the sake of getting a couple of minutes on the park every week. I doubt Tommy G or Bobo are short of a few quid so it’s bewildering to think they are willing to tarnish their names and leave Celtic fans with nothing to remember them by except for two sponges who dinted the progression of the playing squad.

As for management and boards a lot has been made of the new Celtic signing policy that ensures your not landed with any duds by giving them long term contracts then find they can’t deliver and you can’t shift them. On the other hand you don’t want to be signing some wonderkid on a short-term basis, he sets the world on fire and moves on for nothing. This is the dilemma that clubs are left with these days but if the players were through footballers and didn’t mind a pay cut of say 28k to 20k I’m sure they’d manage to pay the bills and might still get a game of football (what there paid for) to boot.

It would be a joy for Celtic Football Club when the window shuts if there was 70k a week been spent on players that actually were involved in the coming season.

While I believe Gravesen is just going to be a robbing bastard as he won't leave because we, Celtic, were stupid enough to offer him such a ridiculous contract something tells me that Balde is happy here to an extent because he believes that, given Celtic sign no more CB's, he could play a part for Celtic. With only Caldwell and Mick ahead of him and O'Dea possibly on the same level of chance with him I reckon te big cnut could come in and give us a shift in the SPL.

Gravesen can GTF though, Strachan isn't even interested in playing him in friendlies, which he is doing with Bobo, so TG has no chance.

Gravesen should go hel never play again for the hoops! whoever thought of the loyalty bonus of 1m pound needs there head checked, a loyalty bonus should have consisted of 1m after 3 years after a certain amount of appearances! the loyalty bonus after doing next to nothing is ludicrous. still believe big bobo could come in and do a job, be daft to sell him with limited cover at the club at the moment. injury to big mick or caldwell would be major problem without bobo to step in, still a bit unsure of darren o'dea!

Tommy G will leave for feck all when he gets his dosh
bobo will either leave and get a pay off or will stay and collect his wages

Both players have seen themselves loose favour with the manager for one reason or another but have vowed to stay and fight for a place in the team. For this they are getting stick from every corner when guys like Barry at Aston Villa is a total cnut because he won't honour his contract and Ronaldo is a slave....can't really win can they????

I actually like big Bobo and I acknowledge that he has made some mistakes whilst playing for Celtic (Seville rankles me most - most folk blame Rab Douglas - I blame Bobo).

However, I do believe that he is an honest football player, who wears his heart on his sleeve and who does have a deep love for The Hoops. He was out for nearly a year with a broken leg and christ there were times in that year we could have done with him!!

I also agree with Rosco67's sentiments. Bobo has been included in the pre season friendlies and is more than adequate cover for any injuries. I would keep him!

Tommy G should have been a revelation in our league - his demise has been a complete mystery. WGS has made it clear that he has no future at Celtic and if Tommy G has any dignity (and his agent has any bloody sense), he should go.

As with any player who is signed to our club, I wish them both the best for the future - wherever it may lie!

Contract protects player and club.

WGS decides not to use these players. Celtic gave them a contract and should honor it and shut their feking mouths. Playing or not they deserve their money.

Contracts do not protect players or clubs which is kind of the point if the whole story.
