Question Is there any Ger that could get a game at Celtic?

V

After the exit of King Ugly to Aston Villa Rangers now have a depleted squad of nobody’s, has-beings and never will be’s. Putting aside the utter contempt you might feel for most of the Rangers squad (Owner, management, fans and general existence) and taking off the hoop vision glasses, is there a rangers player left in their squad that could cement down a place in Celtic current team?

McGregor
McGregor was the 2nd best keeper in the SPL last season and Rangers 2nd best player next to Aston Villa player Carlos Cuellar. He has had a stinker of a pre-season and with the loss of Carlos will have his work cut out for him this season. This season McGregor could probably be assured of been picked before Mark Brown at Celtic but the Holy One is the best goal keeper in Scotland.

David Weir
For a 97 year old Weir had a good season but he would never get a game before captain McManus who’s partnership with Gary Caldwell last season conceded the least amount of SPL goals.

Papac
Missing for most of last season but on Naylor’s form last season Papac might just get a shout ahead of him. Although if there was someone challenging Naylor for his spot then maybe he could raise his game to the standard of his first season in which case Naylor would be the name on the Celtic team sheet.

Whittaker
Ranger’s dirtiest player IMO, when he can’t win the ball he hacks down his opponent. We don’t need players like that at Celtic, not to mention he’s pretty useless anyway.

Ferguson
A player rangers simply can’t do without but I honestly don’t class him as been better or have more to offer than Barry Robson who’s introduction in the Celtic side had more worthwhile effect than Ferguson did for the whole season. I think Barry only plays the way he does because he’s playing for Rangers, he proved that when he played in England and when he plays for Scotland.

Thomson
Scot Browns ex team mate falls short on what Brown offers to Celtic. Brown had some distractions towards the end of the season but looks right up for it again this season and Thomson would never get a game before an on-form Scott Brown.

Boyd
Should of featured a lot more for Rangers last season, just proves Walt hasn’t got a clue what he’s doing but If you put him against the 51 goal scoring duo of Jan and Skippy Boyd would find himself on the Celtic bench.

Novo
Played most of his football on the wings for the Gers last season and was a match winner on more than one occasion but he couldn’t lace Naka’s boots.

Darcheville
Same comments apply as to Boyd V Celtic strikers

Adam
No chance

Naismith
Couldn’t get a game for runners up rangers so……

Cousin
Same comments apply as to Boyd and Darcheville

Dailly and Broadfoot
2 Complete jokes, hope they are in the starting 11 when we meet on the 31st.

McCulloch
Good player for rangers last season, plenty of energy and knows how to put in a tackle, would make it onto the Celtic bench but don’t think he could be assured of a place every week.

Hemdani
Who?

Lafferty
Only seeing him on Saturday for the first time really, looked average and sports a dodgy tache, first impressions – I’d rather Riordan.

Miller
Wasn’t good enough to stay at Celtic, thanks for that goal though Kenny.

Velicka
Not a chance, he couldn’t dislodge Skippy or Jan and Samaras is a much better player.

Forgive me I’ve forgotten anyone, I’ve not bothered with fringe players and I’m getting depressed thinking of having a squad that bad, but that’s it. If Lee Naylor doesn’t get the finger out I’d give Papac a game but I’m sure we could get better than both spending a few quid in the Transfer Market. One player from the whole rangers squad would have a 50/50 chance of getting a game.

There is a big rumor of McGregor and Boyd been off too England before the end of the transfer window which will leave an all ready depleted Rangers side in disarray. Celtic on the other hand have managed to hold onto all their main players and are still looking to build on a 3 in row championship winning side which will put a massive gulf between the two rivals.

I'd take Boyd and Ferguson if they were going cheap in the Rangers closing down sale.

I've always rated those two and i've copped loads of flak before for saying it. Its like my dirty little secret.

The rest can GTF.

I could pick a few for the bench but no immediate starters except Ferguson I'd say. McGregor and Thomson for the bench also. Given the proper partner then Boyd would bang them in for fun but that could be said for any club TBH.

I'm not doubting that. He's still better than Brown though.

I'd take Kirk Broadfoot - given time and the correct nurturing, then I'm sure that he will become the Scottish Paolo Malidini!!

Yes and I also believe that the earth is flat, the moon is made of cheese and that Nacho Novo is a handsome wee chap!!!

Seriously - I'd take none of the fcuckers!!!!!!!!!

Thumbs down Disagree

Ferguson

A player who has undoubted talent, but was inconsistent last season mainly down to playing through injury for the Rankers cause.
I personally believe he would be a first pick in our midfield - a midfield that only showed glimpses of how good it should be considering the wealth of talent we have. He would be in my midfield 4 with Brown McGeady and Naka or 5 with the addtion of Donati (would have more time on the ball therefore would show what he was originally bought for)

Boyd

His goal tally is incredible and I would snap him up in a second if I thought that TFOD would allow it. Given that Rankers primarily played with no natural width last year, his goal to game ratio is superb. I firmly believe he would feature in front of JVOH. Boyd is a natural goal scorer who could be moulded into a Hartson if nurtured by the correct manager - WGS
