Everyone hates clichés, but a game of two halves is what was seeing at Celtic Park this evening. Celtic took their time getting going tonight but gradually as the first half wore on they started to find some rhythm in their moving and passing and started to pick holes in the Dundee Utd defence. In the end it was a corner from Naka that let Loovens in for a glancing header to give Celtic the lead halfway through the first half. After the goal Celtic slipped into cruise control and attacked for the remainder of the half although Dundee Utd put some dangerous balls in the box to nobody.

The same Celtic team never came out of the tunnel for the second half despite finding themselves 2-0 up after Samaras scored with the help of Wilkie deflecting the ball into his own net from a Samaras shot. Artur Boruc was called into action on more than one occasion to keep Celtic’s 2 goal cushion until another dangerous cross into the box allowed David Robertson's to strike close to the hour mark and make it 2-1.

The game turned on its head from the goal and united created plenty of good chances to do what they have been doing to Celtic for all this season. Gary Kenneth probably had the best chance to level things from 6 yards out but thank god he’s a centre half and fluffed his shot. In the end the game was seeing out to give Celtic all 3 points but hopefully lessons can be learned that it’s not good enough to play football for 45 minutes.

The horrible huns face Hibs at Easter Road tomorrow night and a draw will see Celtic stay stop as they head into the last 2 games of a nail biting end of the season.
