3-0 CELTIC IN THE EMIRATES!
No, I haven't fell off the wagon, nor have I become Mystic Meg on acid. I was referring to my Football Manager game where I took 3 from Arsenal on their own patch. Granted it is the year 2018 and Hull City are pushing for a top four place while Arsenal are languishing in mid table mediocrity. If only...
Instead we face an Arsenal team on form and with more luck than they know what to do with. If you sat down and watched Mr Linekar and co on Saturday night for Match of the Day you would have seen William Gallas continue his run of luck. The Arsenal defender looked sure to concede a penalty and be sent off for his troubles when the game was at 2-1, but neither happened. Instead he went up the other end of the pitch and seen the ball bounce off his foot before hitting off his face and landing in the back of the net. Not bad eh.
It's fair to say that Arsenal will not need any luck come kick off mid week. With the game all but wrapped up Celtic are maybe entitled to throw men forward but will be punished if they do so. I am guessing by the 60th minute Tony Mowbray will be making his plans for Celtic's Europa League adventure. I know what your thinking, by the 60th minute? But what can I say I'm an eternal optimist.
I am like any other punter who enjoys football being play the right way and have always saluted Arsenal for retaining that philosophy even if it hasn't been so fruitful over the past 4 or 5 years. Although I have found myself having somewhat of an anti Arsenal week which was topped off by cheering on their rivals Spurs yesterday as they came from behind to win me my weekend coupon.
On a side note are we all enjoying the Sky Sports coverage of the SPL? With the likes of Charlie Nicholas and Neil McCann as studio pundits it really highlights how second rate our little league is. I am paying an extra 20 quid a month to listen to these “experts” analyse the games. A call to watchdog might be in order.
