You know what the problem is,the inconsistances of personal opinion, whenever it comes to situations of a unfortunate circumstances, a Legend contracts an incurable illness,or even worse loses their life, all the usual stuff gets banded about, you know the stuff the greatest player of their Generation,World class,How much would they be worth these days, but what frustrates me is there are so many former players who come into that particular category,so I would like to take this opportunity to ask of everyone ,who really is the greatest player of their generation....

    so many players,so many generations.

    MINE.....

Kenny Dalglish.......I remember his greatness unfortunately for Liverpool and Scotland, and not Celtic I was just too young.

    JINKY,,,,,,,,The most exciting
    Dalglish,,,,,,,, The best all round
    Larson,,,,,,,,, Just behind Dalglish
    Davie Hay,,,,,,,The hardest and toughest
McGrain,,,,,,,, The best full back I ever saw
Murdoch,,,,,,, Best passer of a ball ever to pull on a celtic top
Lennox,,,,,,,,, Fastest cnut ever to play for Celtic

Seen them all many, many times and IF we could have any one of them back tomorrow in their prime it would be Jinky and they would need to build another tier on the stadium

couldnt argue with that, one of the most emotional games ever at c.p. was wee berties last game when celtic pumped clyde 6-1 and the rest of the team carried him round on their shoulders after the game as the entire stadium chanted his name.

I was also in the celtic section of the main stand at ibrox for the 4-4 draw in '86(remember that? we used to get the broomloan, an entire standing enclosure and a quarter of the old stand! They couldnae sell all their tickets).
My abiding memories of this game are Murdo's leveller and willie mcstay kicking kevin (ted) mcminn high into the air right in front of the celtic enclosure. Willie got a red card as well as the loudest cheer of the day.
We were back at ibrox a couple of months later for a glasgow cup final- which we lost- but we had just snatched the league so we didn't care and it was our first chance to yell our variation of souness at the new hun boss. P*nis P*nis.
Those were great games, i remember the huns having 3 idiots sent off in the first game of the double header, they were automaticly suspended for the next game along with peter grant,
The bookies had their coupons printed too early and the price for a hoops win was fantastic, with the banned players and injuries the huns had to play.... wait for it... Davie Dodds (aka the elephant man) at centre half,
Tommy Coyne ran him ragged and we cleaned up at the bookies,
i think it was that clown nisbet that was sent off in the 2nd game.
    Great memories. haha
