Who do you blame for the state of Celtic?

After another toothless performance tonight where Celtic huffed and puffed against an under strength Hamburg side i think its fair to say that apathy really has taken hold of the support.

The blame game is well under way, fingers are pointing in various directions.

The one person who i don't blame is Mowbray. This was the same side (Nguemo aside) that rolled over and died in the league last term.

The same lack of invention, the same toe curling ineptitude, average in every area of the team.

Mowbray can promise attractive football all he likes but it cant happen without players who can pass and control a ball, who can create space and who can finish. And dont get me started on the defence.

For me the blame lies in 3 places.

    1. Strachan for wasting what little money we had on duds
    2. The board (predictably)

    but the killer is:

    3. The sheep within the Celtic support - for putting up with the current state of play for so long.

I for one have had enough. I won't spend another penny inside Celtic park until i see something on the pitch worth shelling out for. I can take losing - but i wont stand for being bored to death while my feet turn to blocks of ice.

Empty stands are the only answer. You can try your online petitions and phone up Radio Snide all you like but you're wasting your time.

    See you in the pub.

Get off the fence, Weeman. Just gave my own analysis on another thread.

I havent been to a Celtic game since the Barca home tie. Before that I was a regular.
The board might be stupid enough to place the blame on the recession, but its clear to the fans that we dont deserve the players that are putting on the jersey.

Im afraid Jock got it wrong. In this current squad the jersey has shrunk to fit inferior players

    The board first and foremost.

Secondly Strachan, he brought a bunch of diddies to the club that he thought would be able to play or adopt a specific brand of football.

Mowbray is left picking up the pieces. I feel sorry for the bloke to a certain extent but its time to change tactics and use what he has at his disposal until January at least. He knew what he was getting himself into when he 1st looked at that squad and he still let the best centre back at the club leave on loan!

    It's your round!

Mowbray is the last person I blame. He's come to do a job but is ultimately still working with an unchanged team from last year. Next year we will see what's to come. If Mowbray clears out and brings in players (which he has massively hinted at), and the board back him then we might have something worth watching.

Like Strachan before him, Mowbray is left having a lot to do. Strachan had an ageing squad and the wage sheet to bring down. Mowbray's just been left with a pishy team.

I still think we'll win the league. It wont be pretty though.

Yes, the players he was left are shite.

    His signings...

N'Guemo has went off the boil, Fox is better than Naylor but who isn't and Fortune is out injured.

I am going to critcise the manager, first for not playing Loovens. He is better than tweedle dee and tweedle dumb and hes more of a threat when a corner is getting swung in. Secondly for playing one up front again AT HOME in Europe. Why play an injured Scott Brown when you don't need to? Thirdly his use of subsitutions, I can never understand why he makes the subs he makes. Maybe last night I could see but the last few European games it has baffled me.

Yes we are awful, but that team organised the proper way can still get results. He's trying to make these guys play football when they are just not capable of it. He needs to do what he has to untill january to stay in contention then he can start weilding the axe and play football the way he wants it to be played.

These guys can't do the fundamentals, they can't pass 10yards, they can't play a ball into space and most players second touch in that team is a tackle.

You complain at playing the injured Scott Brown but call for the reinstatement of the recently injured Glenn Loovens. Explain..

I was enquiring as to why instead of playing people 2 people up front he played an unfit and below par brown.

As for Loovens, I wasn't aware he was injured. I thought his absence at the M'well game was because he was banned.
