So we bring in a new manager who, like mowbray, doesnt like a lot of the current players and then we go through the same rebuilding process again. Who's to say that would bring instant success? It obviously hasnt this season and could well end up with us losing out on the league again next year. Not to mention the champions league which seems like a distant memory right now.
This logic baffles me it really does. Think back to the disastrous PLG era at the Huns. They brought in Smith, he used the remainder of the season to gauge which areas required re-buliding and then set about doing so as soon as the transfer window opened. He also got the Scottish Cup final and used that to build success for the team. Now if we wait until the end of the season, we will have to go through the whole process of searching for a manager again, which during a world cup will mean missing out on potential targets while we piss about trying to get a suitable manager.
IMO we sack TM now, cut our losses and get the Irish directors to bring on Trappatoni, especially as the rumour is that Dennis Riley is making a contribution towards his current salary.
You’re on a crusade against the manager of Celtic football Club. You scoffed at me when I said I rated Rasmussen because you believe we haven't seen enough to judge, well on that basis, you haven't seen enough of MOWBRAYS TEAM not Gordon Strachan’s team but Mowbray’s team to judge.
In January we could hardly score a goal he has definitely fixed this problem, also in January he shipped out Caldwell and McManus, a move most people backed. We have definitely improved since January. He then went about trying to shore up the defence but the club fell short for Ledger and Ramis but we got in Hooveild who now finds himself sidelined. The defence is the only thing standing between Mowbray and success and given the funds to go get HIS defenders Celtic will win the league next season. I have no doubt about that.
No doubt this will go in one ear and out the other. You are an impatient Celtic fan, the kind of fan that has been born after the good years under O'Neill. Sometimes instant success is not achievable and a lot of spoiled Celtic fans have to accept that.
We're no longer in the business of building a super team like we did under O'Neill and when Strachan won his first league he had better scraps to feed off than Strachan left Mowbray. For the time being why don't you stop the blame game and back your team including your manager during a testing spell.
Oh and just a footnote:Think back to the disastrous PLG era at the Huns. They brought in Smith, he used the remainder of the season to gauge which areas required re-buliding and then set about doing so as soon as the transfer window opened. He also got the Scottish Cup final and used that to build success for the team.
You would have made a valid point there if it weren't for the fact that you would have had been calling for Watties head when he lost out on the league in his first full season. They kept faith in their manager and now they are reaping the rewards

So not only do you have the foresight to see TM's grand plan unfold you have the ability to mind melt into my brain and think for me! Wow I underestimated you RB.
Firstly I started supporting Celtic when Hay was the manager and having gone through the Macari years and the barren 9 in a row not winning a trophy in 5 seasons years I feel I am qualified to talk about what I feel Celtic should be accomplishing.
You mention Tm having WGS team and that being a reason why we shouldn't judge him, bollocks. This was a team that twice went to the last day of the season with the Huns so why can't a 'better' manager come in a take the same team way beyond that feat?? Surely if TM is such a good manager he would only have had to add a select few players to the team and they would've went on to be world beaters no? Or could it be TM's shocking attempt at motivation with his thinly veiled threats thats the problem like "I'll play the same two centre halfs two games in a row once they keep a clean sheet", or after beating St. Mirren 2-0 "That wasn't good enough, if they continue to play like that I'll bring in 10 new players in Jan." or maybe his fantastic motivational number on Boruc "If he wants to play for Arsenal he'll need to improve his game". Yeah TM you are the master of the motivational speech, watch out Tony Robins!!!
Also as a footnote to your footnote, after the condition that PLG left Rangers in I wouldn't have been shouting for Wattie's head after one season as I would've realised the massive job to rebuild the squad, but the fact is WGS didn't leave our team anywhere near the mess that PLG left them. PLG's Huns were a massive 15pts or something behind when Wattie took over, WGS's team was 4 pts behind. I think even you would admit to there being a difference no? Or sorry am I reading your mind incorrectly also.
Offt that was a mouthful wasn't it.
So you have the foresight to see he wont be a success at Celtic? PISH!
The people like yourself who are so strong in the mindset that this man must go are doing a diservice to the club. We have given a new group of playes 4 or 5 games and you have condemned them already. We need stability at this club and doing what you are suggesting will only set us back more. (IMO)
Mowbray inherited a team that threw away a commanding lead in the league last season and whatever job these players had done for the club in the past were not good enough anymore.
I am stressing this word stability and hope the board don't give in to people like yourself and maybe me after a bad result.
