So you have the foresight to see he wont be a success at Celtic? PISH!

The people like yourself who are so strong in the mindset that this man must go are doing a diservice to the club. We have given a new group of playes 4 or 5 games and you have condemned them already. We need stability at this club and doing what you are suggesting will only set us back more. (IMO)

Mowbray inherited a team that threw away a commanding lead in the league last season and whatever job these players had done for the club in the past were not good enough anymore.

I am stressing this word stability and hope the board don't give in to people like yourself and maybe me after a bad result.
He took a team that lead the Huns by 7pts but threw it away (as you correctly say) and turned them into a team that trailed the Huns by 7pts (10 including the Killie game). That is a massive turnaround, he managed to ostracise our top goalscorer of the last two seasons, he took the player of the year (in fact both Brown and Heid were the players of the year) and turned him into a wreck, he undermined the captaincy (a la PLG) and IMO is still doing so. He let go Hartley a guy who again IMO was our McCulloch, a guy who would run through walls for the team.

These plus the numerous other reasons (such as substitutions, inability to select an appropriate bench etc..,) that I've posted recently on this forum are why I am so sure that he will not prevail at our club, it's a shame as I would've loved to have seen him succeed but unfortunately I do not think it's going to happen and I feel that we cut our losses and appoint a new manager before we see 3-in-a-row from a weak Rangers side that with every league success will get stronger.

FFS SB you stole my thunder!
You took the words right out of my keyboard.

RB, he's not building a good team, he raped and ruined one we had the foundations of already just to fill his own ego. Like he has at every club he's went to. Christ. he even ruined Fox in a matter of weeks!

And as for your bollox about my supporting Celtic since MON, you fair set yourself up for a fall on that one. I used to go watch the first half in the TV van at the back of the Jungle, then get in the gates 2nd half.
I've dodged darts at Tynecastle, went toe-to-toe in Union St Aberdeen, been chased over the train tracks at Dundee, been kicked to fuck outside Cessnock tube station and many many more, most of that coming in seasons where we won fuck all.
Best season for me ever, 1988. Think I partied till about November.

So don't preach to me RB because i've seen it all before. Spoilt in recent years? Maybe. But why does that make it right to suddenly lower our expectations and curtail our dreams?

As I've said, if we can afford Keano for 4/5 months then we can afford a decent manager.
I hated WGS because he wasn't Celtic minded. TM is in the very same vein. Only looking for the next EPL job.

If we want to be more than just a football club then we need more than just a journeyman manager.

    We deserve better.
    Get rid!

Reading over this thread is like reading over 90% of the Strachan related threads of last year. Naming players who he has ruined, not got the best out of etc. Same shit from the fans but a different manager and in a different year.

To be fair though if you want someone better than TM they will be exactly the same. Might stay for a couple of seasons and then take off when they get a better offer.

Exactly andy, there is no-one of the class required who would see this as a job for life.
The grass will always be greener in the EPL, no pun intended.

BUT let’s look at the bigger picture, we have a team in progress a couple of defenders and a pre season and we can come back strong next year.

If we give the manager the marching orders then we have another guy in with his ideas another reshaping and most likely another title would pass us by.

Celtic fans that have started this Rangers-esk "we deserve better" campaign are idiots. Who are they aiming that phrase at? The board? Can't be, this is the board that backed major changes in January after all. Is it directed at Mowbray? The man who inherited a severely average team and a below par defence, who then overseen the changes we all were so desperate to see. Most of the players he has brought in I have been impressed with ; N'Guemo, Kamara, Rassmusen, Fortune, Ki and Braafhied although he had a stinker at Pittodre. It is worth noting the defence that let him down at Aberdeen had only one of his signings present.

It’s testing times to be a Celtic fan after being spoiled with league titles and right now a lot of fans are failing the test. Maybe it should be Tony Mowbray that holds a “we deserve better” banner aloft.

Like the rest of you I sit and seethe at some of the results we have been getting and it is easy to give out a knee jerk reaction of which I am also guilty but the bigger picture has to come into play and I firmly believe Mowbray will come good if given the proper backing by the support.

So let’s rally behind him for we are Celtic supporters faithful through and through......aren’t we?

While I fully understand the setiment behind the appeal R.B. my concerns with Mowbray go way beyond whether he is or is not building his team for next season, I just do not and never have thought he is tacticly aware enough to manage celtic.
Some of his line ups and substitutions have been ridiculous as has his inability to change the shape of the team to defend a lead when required, which was a mistake he done several times last year when he was willing to take his team down a division because he wanted to play a certain way.
We all want attacking football but we also realise a team should adapt to what is needed to win or keep a lead in a game and Mowbray just does not understand that side of football.
WBA lost more goals than any team in the epl last year but when you took away a few heavy defeats several of their loses and draws were by losing a single goal when they had a foot in the door but lost out because they could not keep what they already had.
He was willing to risk taking his team out of the most lucrative league in the world because he will not look at the bigger picture.

My hope right now is we beat utd, they lose to st johnstone and we beat them at ibrox and its down to 4 points, we take some real confidence, put a run together, win or challenge for the league and prove me completly wrong.
The reality is we will lose or draw at home then get beat at Ibrox to go 15 or 16 points behind and end the season 20+ points behind a less than good rangers team while HOPING that hibs perform worse than us from now to the end of the season.

IMO, All we are doing is delaying the inevitable, Mowbray will not succeed this season, or next and will eventually be sacked anyway.

    Nope.

I stand by my words at the time. Not even the most pessamistic of Celtic fans seen a 4-0 thrashing to St Mirren coming.

I said in the other thread, i'll hold my hands up and say yes I did back him but no Celtic manager can get away with that defeat.

For me alot of people jumped on the bandwagon too quick. But tonight enough is enough.
