Tony Mowbray's 9 month reign as Celtic manager came to an end today after a long meeting at Lennoxtown. It was what everyone expected to happen after the debacle that unfolded in paisley last night. This has been a poor season by any standards but a 4-0 defeat to St Mirren was the final straw for the most patient of Celtic fans.
Tony Mowbray had a tough task from the start, trying to revive a team who had thrown away the league the season before but he never really got a grip of the situation. He made wholesale changes in January and as many have said one too many for the team to be a competitive force. I wish Tony Mowbray all the best for the future; he is a man of dignity and respect and has conducted himself in that manner throughout his tenure.
It is thought that Neil Lennon will be brought in for the rest of the season to steady the ship while a new manager can be found.
Who next for the hot seat?
