What a difference a day makes.
That saying will not be lost on Neil Lennon. It has came to light that Tony Mowbray increasingly isolated the now interim manager from the old regime. We all know that Lennon was put in charge of the reserves when Mogga came through the door. What we didn't know was that Mowbray was isolating the popular Parkhead man which didn't go down well with certain players in Mowbray's dressing room. It has been said that the likes of Scott McDonald among others were disgruntled at the treatment of the former captain. The biggest insult to Lennon came at last months Old Firm game when he was told to make his own travel arrangements to the game after being refused a place on the team bus.
Yesterday he emerged from the shadows of Lennoxtown and into the spotlight once again. When Peter Lawell approached Lennon about taking over till the end of the season there was only ever going to be one answer. Lennon who watched Celtic crash big time on Wednesday night is excited by the prospect of changing the teams on field fortunes and he's acted quickly to secure his number two in the giant Swede Johan Mjallby. Although this is Lennon's first managerial role he has been in the Celtic dugout with Gordon Strachan and worked under former hoops boss Martin O'Neill for many years. He will no doubt look to these two men as he looks to make his own mark.
Fans are now hoping for a bit of passion to show through, the league may be over but Celtic need to restore their pride and hopefully win the Scottish cup in the process.
I for one will be very curious to see Neil Lennon's team come Saturday.
