Thread: Old Firm Chart Battle - Rangers out in front

Yesterday it was put to Celtic fans that we may see our team play our bitter rivals in America, but before we get to that we have another platform on which to take on Rangers and no it's not on any football pitch. Bizarrely it is in this week’s charts!! With Rangers all set to wrap up the league this Sunday they have started a campaign to get their simply the best anthem to number one. I know what you're thinking 'simply the best?' hardly fitting unless they wish to dedicate it to the referees who have stood them in good stead this season. When I heard what they were trying to do I found it quite amusing but when I looked on my iTunes page this morning, imagine my horror when I see THEIR anthem at number 6!

Now I’m not usually one for these childish antics but today I will make an exception and encourage any Celtic fan with iTunes to download You'll Never Walk Alone in a bid to keep them away from that number 1 spot. Gerry and the Pacemakers classic is currently at number 15.

You've got to be kidding me. We're putting this pish on our front page now? I'm more likely to buy Simply the Best just to discourage other Celtic fans from wasting their money getting involved. I could understand if the number one hit was "Rangers are awesome, Celtic are shite" but who gives a damn if some wench gets a number one hit 20 years after it was released.

If you are going to purchase this more than once like some folk are doing then do it from different sites as dowloading it from the same site say 10 times counts as one purchase towards the chart.

It's a bit of a laugh at the end of the day and will be funny to listen to the charts on Sunday which I haven't done for years. If you or anyone else doesn't wish to take part in this new tit for tat banter then fair enough but no need to go red in the face about it.

I personally hope Diana Vickers gets to number one...because of her stunning....voice
