Thompson clears the way for Celtic Role

ALAN THOMPSON today severed ties with Newcastle United to clear the way for him to join up with Neil Lennon at Celtic.

In perhaps the worst kept secret in recent Celtic history, Neil Lennon will be installed as permanent manager within the next few days and he sees Thompson as the ideal person to help him at Celtic.

This will mean three of “The Untouchables” from the O'Neill era will be in the dugout next season.

It has been reported today that the well travelled Stuart Baxter will be installed as a part time Director of football at the club. A move which has baffled many fans, and left some asking “WHO?”.

Baxter has been around the globe managing teams and right now is in charge of the Finland international team. It is yet to be seen if he will definitely be joining Alan, Johan and Neil in their quest to win the SPL title back.

intend to agree, 3 ex MON players doesn't mean they'll be any good but it looks a foregone cunclusion now.

How can Lennon and Co improve on what strachan was doing ?

I don't think they can, i think they could win us a few trophies but i think we will be doing it playing dire football - after two bad seasons the celtic support will take any type of league win (myself included) but eventually they'll be looking for fancy football from fancy footballers and i don't see lenny providing that
