AIDEN McGEADY'S future as a Celtic player has been thrown into doubt after it was reported by a national newspaper that he has decided to call it a day in the famous green and white jersey.
For me the summer was always going to throw up this scenario. We will no doubt hear from sources within Celtic park who will point blank deny that they will allow the winger to leave. Regardless if this particular rumour is true I believe Celtic's resolve will be tested to the fullest by not just Spartak Moscow but Premiership teams monitoring his situation.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon has said in previous weeks that only “silly money” would be accepted for the Irish international. What is considered silly money by the Celtic hierarchy then? As far as I'm concerned a 10 million pound bid would be enough to satisfy all parties. Yes, 10 million is a big number and there will be fans out there who will be thinking he is worth less and others who think Celtic should get more for him but this figure IS realistic in today's market.
The Premiership will more than likely be his destination and in a land where Steven Fletcher is worth 6.5 million then I don't think the fee I mentioned above seems so ludicrous.
I think it is the right time for McGeady to leave Celtic and in the process give Lennon a massive boost of funds to build a new team and maybe paving the way for a talisman figure Lennon so desperately wants.
In other transfer news it seems N'Guemo will not be getting signed on a permanent basis and I believe again this is the correct call. Although Landry had a decent season I just didn't see him in a new look Lennon side.
